Common questions, briefly answered.
What patients most often want to know before the initial consultation. If your question is not here, you can raise it in the consultation itself.
Who gynxtra is for
Who is gynxtra suitable for?
gynxtra is for women between 38 and 65 with perimenopausal or menopausal symptoms such as disturbed sleep, hot flushes, weight gain or brain fog. The Fit Check helps you work out in 2 minutes whether gynxtra is right for you.
What if I am already taking hormones?
The initial consultation is also the right place to review and optimise an existing hormone therapy. Please note in the questionnaire which preparations you are currently taking.
Process
What exactly happens in the initial consultation?
Beforehand, and in your own time, you complete a medical history questionnaire. In the 1:1 video consultation your specialist goes through your situation, puts it in context and recommends whether and which diagnostics make sense. If you already have earlier findings, you look at them together there and then.
When are diagnostics appropriate?
If further assessment is appropriate, your physician recommends targeted diagnostics. Current findings you already have are taken into account.
Is the results consultation included?
If your physician recommends diagnostics, the results consultation is part of it and is not charged on top. You go through your values in a dedicated 1:1 video consultation and agree your treatment plan there.
What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?
Up to 48 hours before your appointment you can reschedule or cancel using the link in your booking confirmation. A payment you have already made is then refunded, or transferred to a new appointment if you prefer. For cancellations at shorter notice, and where you do not attend, the service is charged. Where there is a substantiated serious reason such as illness or an emergency, gynxtra may grant a one-off free rescheduling.
Treatment
Will I automatically be prescribed hormones after the initial consultation?
Not automatically. Your physician recommends a therapy only where it is medically indicated. Some patients benefit from lifestyle measures or from other steps. Your health and your safety come first.
Do I have to book ongoing care after the initial consultation?
No. The initial consultation is a one-off service. Your physician will say whether ongoing care is advisable, and the decision is yours.
Prices and billing
Does my health insurance cover the cost?
gynxtra services are self-pay services. gynxtra does not bill health insurers, and reimbursement through basic insurance is not provided for. Medication your physician prescribes is also paid for by you. In return, you see every price in advance.
What do diagnostics cost?
Your physician recommends targeted diagnostics only where they are medically indicated. She discusses the scope and the cost with you in advance.
Is medication included in the price?
No. Medication, and any additional laboratory services, are billed separately and are not included in the price of physician-led care.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel at any time, and there is no minimum term. With monthly care, it ends with the current monthly period, at the latest before the next prescription is issued. With quarterly care, the quarterly period you have already paid for runs to its end, and during that time you continue to receive your follow-up and your prescription. Medically, we usually plan a treatment over six months. That is a planning horizon, not a contractual commitment.
You do not have to make sense of this on your own.
Use the Fit Check to see whether gynxtra suits your situation. If what we offer is a possible fit for you, you can then choose an appointment for your medical initial consultation.
